USPENDED BODY I STILLNESS Static Full Suspension & Orientation The Sixth C
hapter of Tiger Nawa Ryū Find stillness in space. Partial suspension allo
ws the body to negotiate with both rope and floor. Full suspension changes
that relationship. The final point of support disappears. Gravity becomes
absolute. Level 6 is a two-day immersion into the foundations of static f
ull suspension: creating\, loading\, observing\, holding and returning the
suspended body with clarity\, sensitivity and control. Stillness does not
mean that nothing is happening. Inside a suspended body\, weight continue
s to shift. Breath changes. Rope settles. Sensation develops. Emotion rise
s and falls. Stillness requires continuous attention. Rope becomes archite
cture. The body becomes suspended form. Gravity becomes an active particip
ant in the relationship. “Let’s fly together.” FROM PARTIAL SUPPORT
TO FULL SUSPENSION Level 5 introduces Han Yuka Zuri: the changing territor
y between the floor and the air. Level 6 removes the remaining floor suppo
rt. Students learn how the structures and shapes developed through the ear
lier levels can support the fully suspended body. We explore the principal
  families of static suspension including face-up\, lateral\, face-down\, i
nverted\, diagonal and torsioned orientations while maintaining connection
\, communication and responsibility. Each suspension is approached as a co
mplete journey: Preparation. Construction. Loading. Observation. Stillness
. Return. The purpose is not to collect spectacular positions. The purpose
is to understand what happens when rope\, body and gravity become one str
ucture. WHAT YOU WILL DEVELOP FULL-SUSPENSION FOUNDATIONS • Progressing
from partial to full suspension • Preparing the body\, rope and suspensi
on system • Lifting and lowering with intention • Recognising when a s
tructure is ready to receive full load • Understanding the increased res
ponsibility of elevation LOAD AND SUSPENSION LINES • How weight moves th
rough rope\, body and suspension points • Directional tension and load d
istribution • Attaching\, lifting\, locking and adjusting suspension lin
es • Maintaining and recovering tension under load • Understanding how
small changes affect the entire structure STATIC ORIENTATION • Face-up
suspension and openness • Lateral suspension and asymmetry • Face-down
suspension and containment • Inversion and altered orientation • Diag
onal and torsioned suspended forms • Understanding how orientation chang
es sensation and emotional tone READING THE SUSPENDED BODY • Observing b
reath\, facial expression and muscular tone • Monitoring hands\, feet\,
colour\, temperature and responsiveness • Recognising circulation\, nerv
e\, joint and pressure concerns • Reading fatigue\, fear\, excitement an
d emotional change • Knowing when to adjust\, lower or end the suspensio
n STILLNESS AND COMPOSITION • Creating clear suspended lines • Working
with gravity\, angle and asymmetry • Understanding compression and exte
nsion • Holding a shape without abandoning communication • Allowing th
e suspended form to breathe and develop CONTROLLED RETURNS • Preparing t
he Ukete before lowering • Managing changing loads during the return •
Preserving communication until the body is fully supported • Recognisin
g landing as part of the suspension • Integrating release\, recovery and
aftercare STATIC DOES NOT MEAN FROZEN A static suspension is a suspended
position that is entered\, held and returned without progressing through a
sequence of dynamic transitions. The Bakushi remains active throughout. T
he rope may need adjustment. The body may settle. Breath\, sensation and e
motional state may change. The suspension is never left unattended simply
because the visible shape appears still. Level 6 develops the attention re
quired to remain present inside that stillness. Dynamic transitions\, drop
s\, rapid rotations and movement-led suspension sequences belong to Level
