to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for all bodies and identitie
 s. SHIBARI ELEMENTS 3 // HIP HARNESS LAB // IMPROVERS The Shibari Elements
Lab series returns\, expanded to provide all the tools you need to create
your own alchemical Kinbaku and Shibari scenes. Each Element explores a s
ingle fundamental component of rope in depth. Together\, they form a growi
ng vocabulary that can be combined and applied to floor work\, self-tying\
, partial suspension and full suspension. ELEMENT 3 // HIP HARNESS Hip Har
nesses are one of the fundamental building blocks of Kinbaku. Once underst
ood\, they unlock countless possibilities for composition\, movement\, pla
y\, suspension and self-suspension. In this lab we will explore Hip Harnes
ses through function\, structure and aesthetics . Rather than learning a s
ingle pattern\, we will study the concepts that make a Hip Harness work. F
ollowing the philosophy of Tiger Nawa Ryū \, we teach concepts rather tha
n patterns. By understanding the function of every element and the role of
each technique\, you become free to choose\, adapt and combine different
approaches according to the body\, the intention and the moment. From stru
ctured minimalism to ornate maximalism\, we will explore multiple Hip Harn
ess styles and variations while developing the understanding needed to des
ign your own rather than simply reproducing somebody else's. Our goal is n
ot only to teach Hip Harnesses. Our goal is to teach you how to think abou
t Hip Harnesses . SKILL LEVEL Advanced Beginner / Intermediate To particip
ate successfully\, you should have completed Beginner Rope Foundation 1 an
d Evolving Rope Foundation 2 \, or have an equivalent level of experience.
Participants should already be comfortable with: Single Column Ties Doubl

ble 💡 Suitable for: Partnered Rope & Self-Tying This workshop has been
designed equally for partnered rope and self-tying. The concepts\, princip
les and techniques explored throughout the day apply equally whether you a
re building a Hip Harness on another person or on yourself. Understanding
the structure\, function and purpose of a Hip Harness gives you the freedo
m to apply it confidently in either practice. If your interest is primaril
y partnered rope\, we encourage attending with your own partner whenever p
ossible\, allowing you to explore communication\, adaptation and body diff
erences together. If your focus is self-tying or self-suspension\, you are
equally welcome to attend on your own. Everything taught during the works
hop translates directly into self-rigging practice. WHAT TO WEAR Close-fit
ting clothing such as leggings\, shorts or fitted sportswear is recommende
d so that rope placement\, structure and tension around the hips can be cl
early observed. Wear whatever allows you to move comfortably and feel like
yourself. SAFETY & ADAPTATION Different bodies require different solution
 s. Throughout the workshop we explore anatomy\, body mechanics\, communica
tion and adaptation rather than assuming one structure fits every person.
