proudly LGBTQIA+\, FLINTA+ and BiPOC supportive and allied \, and we are c
ommitted to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for all bodies and i
dentities. GOTE SHIBARI MASTERCLASS TK LAB /// 5-HOUR WORKSHOP Ropejam Stu
dio presents a new series of five-hour Masterclasses : intensive workshops
created to explore one fundamental element of Kinbaku-Shibari in depth. T
he Gote Shibari Masterclass is a deep exploration of the Takate Kote—or
TK —from its historical origins and evolution to contemporary structures
\, variations and styles. The TK is one of the signature ties of Kinbaku\,
but there is no single structure that can be applied identically to every
body. During this laboratory\, we will bring together anatomy\, mechanics
\, adaptation and creative construction to understand how a TK can be tail
ored to the individual partner. We will pay particular attention to should
er mobility\, body positioning\, rope placement\, blood circulation and ne
rve pathways. No TK can ever be considered completely safe. The focus of t
his Masterclass is therefore on developing greater anatomical awareness\,
informed decision-making and practical tools to help recognise and mitigat
e its inherent risks. By understanding the function of each component\, yo
u will learn how to make conscious structural choices and begin creating a
TK tailored to your partner\, your intention and your personal tying styl
 e. A short break will be included during the workshop. PROGRAMME HISTORY A
ND EVOLUTION • The origins and evolution of Gote Shibari • From tradit
ional forms to contemporary TK structures • Understanding different appr
oaches\, variations and styles ANATOMY AND RISK AWARENESS • Relevant blo
od vessels and circulation • Nerve pathways and areas of increased vulne
rability • Shoulder rotation and individual range of movement • Should
er and arm positioning • Recognising when a position needs to be adapted
or abandoned ENTERING AND POSITIONING THE TK • Different ways of enteri
ng the TK • Assessing the partner’s mobility before tying • Rope pos
itioning and tension • Adapting rope placement to different bodies • K
annuki placement and structural choices ONE-WRAP AND TWO-WRAP STRUCTURES
 • One-wrap Gote • Two-wrap TK structures • Stemmed and stemless cons
truction • Two variations for each structural approach • Comparing fun
ction\, stability\, adaptability and aesthetics THE THIRD ROPES • Unders
tanding the function of the third rope • Structural analysis of differen
 t third-rope applications • Tasuki structures and variations • Twist a
nd Shout • Creating stability and directional pressure • Pressure-poin
t awareness • Understanding how each choice changes the function\, sensa
tion and aesthetics of the TK SUSPENSION-LINE PLACEMENTS • Suspension-li
ne placement options • How line placement affects load\, balance and bod
y position • Evaluating the TK structure before loading • Adapting the
placement to the intended suspension TIGER NAWA RYŪ Learning established
patterns is useful for understanding how different TK structures function
. In Tiger Nawa Ryū \, however\, patterns are not treated as the final de
stination. The central philosophy is structure before form : learning the
anatomy\, mechanics and intention behind the tie so that every choice has
a purpose. Rather than reproducing the same TK on every partner\, the aim
is to master transferable concepts that allow you to adapt\, experiment an
d eventually develop your own TK style. HOW TO GET THERE Ropejam Studio Un
